The Lynch Family Skate Park in Cambridge has become a vibrant canvas this summer, thanks to the creative energy of the AOA Collective. Chosen as the resident graffiti artists, the group brought fresh life and color to the skate park’s walls. Led by Soems, the collective, including members MAR, JB183, and DOE, crafted a series of graffiti and character art pieces that have transformed the space into a dynamic urban gallery.
Bringing Graffiti to Boston’s Skate Culture
Boston’s skate park scene has long been a hub for youth culture and street art. The Lynch Family Skate Park, located right by the museum of science , serves as a gathering spot for skaters and artists alike. The CRC's decision to appoint the AOA Collective as resident artists was a deliberate move to celebrate this connection between skateboarding and graffiti art.
The collective’s work reflects the spirit of the skate park community. Soems, the lead artist, designed bold graffiti murals that incorporate elements of hip hop and skate culture, such as dynamic portrait of MF DOOM a hip hop artist and producer that connects both cultures through music. urban motifs, and vibrant colors.
